Publication protocol

Cells were plated onto 24-well plates, treated for 3 days and stained using the Senescence Detection Kit (EMD Millipore; Billerica, MA, USA) per manufacturer's instructions. Positive and negative cells were counted in triplicate for each treatment using a phase-contrast microscope at 20x optical fields.
