Publication protocol

After treatment, lysates of ARPE-19 cells were obtained, and total protein was extracted in protein lysis buffer M-PER (Pierce, Rockford, IL, USA) and quantified by a Detergent Compatible protein assay (Bio-Rad, Hercules, CA, USA). Protein extracts (20 to 40 μg) were denatured in Laemmli's sample buffer, followed by boiling for 5 minutes, and then resolved on a 4 to 20% Tris-glycine gel.
