Prostate tissues were extracted by using the T-PER protein extraction reagent (Pierce). An equal amount of prostate tissue or total cell lysates was subjected to SDS-PAGE, followed by Western blot analysis using anti-AR(441), anti-actin (C2), anti-AR (N20; Santa Cruz Biotechnology), anti-TGF-β, anti-Smad3, anti-p-Smad3, anti-Smad1, anti-p-Smad1/5 (Cell Signaling), and anti-AR3.
