Protocol tips

Upstream tips
- Permits larger samples to be processed.
Protocol tips
- Allows to perform sequential precipitation of RNA, DNA, and proteins from a single sample.

Publication protocol

Trizol LS reagent was used for RNA isolation according to the manufacturer's recommendation Invitrogen (Carlsbad, CA, USA). This method can be used to isolate RNA from both tissue and faecal samples and also from tissue culture. Extraction was performed from both faecal samples and cell culture in a passage at the beginning of adaptation and at the end of the adaptation. Extracted RNA was resuspended in RNase-free water and stored at −80°C.
