Publication protocol

The human MC line HMC‐1 was kindly provided by Dr. J.H. Butterfield (Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, USA). Two subclones were used, HMC‐1.1 expressing KIT V560G and HMC‐1.2 expressing KIT V560G and KIT D816V.35, 36 HMC‐1 cells were grown in IMDM with 10% FCS, alpha‐thioglycerol (Sigma), and antibiotics. The human BA cell line KU812 was kindly provided by Dr. K. Kishi (Kumamoto University, Kumamoto, Japan) and cultured in RPMI 1640 medium with 10% FCS
