Publication protocol

To evaluate the level of apoptosis, the cells floating in the medium and the adherent cells were collected after 48 h of treatment. The cells were stained using the Annexin V-FITC Apoptosis Detection kit (Sigma-Aldrich) according to the manufacturer's instructions. The samples were analyzed using a FACSCalibur flow cytometer (Becton-Dickinson, North Ryde, New South Wales, Australia)
