DNA quantification Human - HEK 293

Though DNA quantification is but one small step in the multifaceted DNA sample preparation workflow, it can have large implications on the performance and validity of conclusions drawn from downstream assays. Major challenges include accuracy, precision, reproducibility, and detection of present contamination. Among UV spectrophotometry, fluorescence and real-time PCR based methods, the quantification method should be chosen based on the requirement of the downstream assay.

About nuclease-free water in DNA quantification

Hi everyone! I have a question about DNA quantification. Do I need to use nuclease-free water for DNA quantification and are there any repercussions if I don’t use any?

Upstream tips
Exposure to light will reduce the sensitivity of the assay. Store QuantiFluor® dsDNA Dye and working solution protected from light
Protocol tips
Do not allow pipette tip to touch the outer edges or inner sides of the wells to prevent solutions from sticking to the surface
Qubit dsDNA HS Assay Kit

Thermo Fisher Scientific

Upstream tips
Do not label the side of the tube as this could interfere with the sample read.
