HaCaT cells were seeded at 5 × 105 in each well in the CytoSelect 24-well Wound Healing Assay (Cell Biolabs, San Diego, CA, USA). Cells in 4 wells in 2 different plates were separately treated with the 2 different pressures for 12 h. Inserts producing wound gaps were measured immediately and 12 h after wounding at the 2 pressures. Prepared wells were examined at 40 × for phase contrast images (Leica TCS SP2, Leica Microsystems GmbH, Wetzlar, Germany). The difference in migration between baseline and 12 h incubation was defined as the migration distance. We followed the previous protocol to determine the cell migration curve and wound closure time by using electric cell-substrate impedance sensing (ECIS 1600R, Applied Biophysics, Troy, NY, USA) [4], [10].
