Publication protocol

Changes in the migration of SW480 and SW620 cells were analyzed using a fibronectin-coated Oris Cell Migration Assay kit (Platypus Technologies, Madison, WI, USA) according to the manufacturer’s protocol. Briefly, cells were plated at a density of 1×104 cells per well and incubated at 37°C in a 5% CO2 atmosphere. After 24 h, all the stoppers were removed from the wells and the cells were washed once and the medium was exchanged with medium containing various concentrations of hBD-3 (0, 1 or 5 μM). After an additional 24 h of incubation, the wells were photographed and cell migration was analyzed using ImageJ software (US National Institutes of Health).
