Publication protocol

EPC's participation in tube-like formation was evaluated with the In Vitro Angiogenesis Assay Kit (Chemicon, Canada & USA). EPCs were treated as in the migration assay, harvested, resuspended, and reseeded into 96 well plates coated with 50 µL of diluent ECMatrix™ solution at a cell density of 1×104/well. After incubation at 37°C for 6 h, EPC tube-like formation was observed by microscopy, and visual patterns were defined based on the pattern/value association criterion (Table 1). Five randomly selected high power view-fields (×200) per well were assessed and the values averaged
