Publication protocol

Senescent cells were analyzed using a SA β-gal staining kit (Beyotime Inc., Nantong, China) according to the manufacturer's instructions. The percentage of SA-β-gal positive cells was calculated by counting the cells in 5 random fields (at least 100 cells) using bright-field microscopy, according to the method reported by te Poele et al [41].
