Publication protocol

Cell viability after exposure to colistin sulfate was assessed using a LIVE/DEAD staining kit (EMD Chemicals Millipore 50-231-0606). Stains were prepared per manufacturer’s operating procedure. After staining, 10 µL of sample was injected into an INCYTO C-chip disposable hemocytometer (DHC-N01). Cells were imaged using a fluorescence microscope, and the number of PA14 cells that were alive after exposure was determined using IMAGE J (ImageJ, U. S. National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, USA, http://imagej.nih.gov/ij/).

Live/dead assay Bacteria

Hello everyone! I am going to do a live/dead assay for my cells and I saw that I can use both fluorescence and absorbance as my detection method. Is there a difference in the results depending on the method? Is one method preferred over the other in certain situations?
