Apoptosis analysis

For assessment of apoptosis, an annexin V–fluorescein isothio-cyanate (FITC) staining kit was used. The cells were harvested in 0.25% trypsin and washed once with phosphate-buffered saline (PBS). After centrifugation, the cells were stained using the annexin V FITC/propidium iodide Apoptosis Detection
Kit (BD, Franklin Lakes, NJ, USA). Analysis of the apoptotic cells was performed on a flow cytometer (BD). The experiment was performed in triplicate.
