Protocol tips

Protocol tips
- The frozen tissues are homogenized in CelLytic™ MT cell lysis reagent by Precellys 24 beads homogenizer (Bertin Technologies, Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France). The homogenates are centrifuged and the supernatants are used.

Publication protocol

C57/BL6 mice were administrated either atorvastatin (10 mg/kg per day), pravastatin (50 mg/kg per day), or placebo by gavage every day for 1 week. After the 1-week treatment, the animals were anaesthetized with isofluorane and perfused with ice-cold PBS. Immediately after dissection, the aorta, heart, liver, and skeletal muscles were frozen by liquid nitric oxide. The frozen tissues were homogenized in CelLytic™ MT cell lysis reagent (Sigma, C3228) by Precellys 24 beads homogenizer (Bertin Technologies, Montigny-le-Bretonneux, France). The homogenates were centrifuged and the supernatants were used for western blot analysis.
