Protocol tips

Protocol tips
- For low 260/230 readings the best approach is to try washing sample (precipitation) with ethanol to desalt it.

Publication protocol

RNA was extracted using TRIzol (Invitrogen Life Technologies, Carlsbad, CA, USA) in a lysing matrix containing silica beads on a FastPrep Instrument (MP Biomedicals, Solon, OH, USA) according to the manufacturer’s protocol. RNA was purified with the RNeasy Mini Kit (Qiagen, Valencia, CA, USA) and the quality was assessed using the prokaryote and eukaryote total RNA chips on the Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer (Agilent Technologies, Santa Clara, CA, USA).
