Publication protocol

Mycelia of two independent homokaryons for each deletion strain were grown in liquid AFM medium in baffled flasks for 16 h. Equal wet weights of mycelia were washed and grown either in AFM or under nutrient-limited conditions in minimal media for 16 h prior to total RNA isolation with a RiboPure-Yeast kit (Life Technologies).
