Publication protocol
RNA was extracted using the TRIzol reagent (Invitrogen), purified using a Qiagen RNeasy kit, and treated with Ambion Turbo DNase. RNA quality was assessed using gel electrophoresis and a Nanodrop (Thermo Scientific). Q RT-PCR was performed using a Qiagen QuantiTect SYBR Green RT-PCR kit and an ABI 7300 machine, according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Reactions were performed in triplicate, and actin was used as the endogenous control. Data were analyzed using the ABI 7300 software.
