Publication protocol

MDC is a fluorescent compound that stains autophagic vacuoles. MRC5 cells were treated with 4 µM PAB and/or 2 mM 3MA for 36 h, then were incubated with 0.05 mM MDC at 37°C for 1 h. Following the incubation, cells were washed in PBS. Intracellular MDC was measured by fluorescence microscopy at an excitation wavelength of 380 nm and an emission filter of 525 nm (Leica Microsystems GmbH)
