Publication protocol
Cells were lysed using 1 × RIPA lysis buffer (EMD Millipore, 20-188) supplemented with 1× protease inhibitor (Halt ™ Protease Inhibitor 100×, Thermo Scientific, 78430). Cell lysates were homogenized mechanically with mortar and pestle and through ice-cold sonication before resolving on 4–20% precast polyacrylamide gels (Bio-Rad, Mini-PROTEAN® TGX™ gels, 456-1094) using 1× Tris/glycine/SDS running buffer (Bio-Rad, 161-0732). Gels were transferred onto nitrocellulose membrane (iBlot® transfer stack, Life Technologies, IB3010-02).
