	Culture of Salmonella Typhi (MTCC 733) was obtained from Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh and was maintained in Growth Medium 3. Escherichia coli DH5α used in the cloning experiments was purchased from Bangalore Genei and grown in Luria broth (LB). The culture of Salmonella was revived on Luria Bertani broth (Hi Media, India) and Luria Bertani agar and the purity of the culture was tested using colony character on Brilliant Green Agar (Hi media, India).
