Publication protocol

Chromatin fractionation was performed as described (Mendez and Stillman 2000). Histone acid extraction was performed as described (Kapoor et al. 2010), with the exception that isolated chromatin was treated with H2SO4. Immunoblots were performed with the following antibodies: αGFP (Roche, 11 814 460 001), αATRX (Santa Cruz Biotechnology, sc15408), αIMP9 (Abcam, ab52605), αNap1L1 (Abcam, ab33076), αNpm (Chemicon, MAB4500), αH3 (Millipore, 05-928), αDaxx (Cell Signaling, 25C12), αParp1 (Active Motif, 39561), αβActin (Sigma, A5316), αH2B (Millipore, 07-371), αHemoglobin α (Santa Cruz Biotechnology, sc-21005), and αmH2A1 (Abcam, ab37264).
