For plasmid extractions, V. parahaemolyticus was cultivated overnight in 5 ml of Luria Bertani broth (Oxoid, UK) with an addition of 4% (w/v) NaC1 at 35°C, using FavorPrep™ Plasmid Extraction Mini Kit (Favorgen Biotech Corp., Taiwan) following manufacturer’s instruction. The plasmid DNA products were stored at −20°C for further analysis.
