Plasmid extraction from all the qnrD-positive clinical isolates was performed by QIAprep Spin Miniprep Kit (Qiagen) and treated with Plasmid-Safe ATP-dependent DNase (Epicentre Technologies, Madison, WI, USA) to remove contaminating chromosomal DNA.
