Genomic DNA was purified by using the Ultra Clean® Microbial DNA Isolation Kit, plasmid DNA with the Ultra Clean™ 6 minute mini plasmid prep Kit and for purification of PCR products the Ultra Clean® PCR Clean-Up Kit was employed, all these kits from MoBio (Carlsbad, CA).
