Densitometric measurements were carried out used Image Studio Lite version 3.1. In Figure 2B, the histogram plots the mean ± SEM from three independent experiments. In Figure 3D, the graph plots the mean ± SEM from three independent experiments and the two-tailed Student’s t test was used to determine statistical significance. In Figures 5A–5C, the histograms plot the mean ± SEM from eight (Figure 5A) and three (Figures 5B and 5C) independent experiments respectively and the two-tailed Student’s t test was used to determine statistical significance in Figure 5A. In Figure S1I, the histogram plots the mean ± SEM from two independent experiments. Where indicated, a single asterisk (∗) indicates non-specific bands and a double asterisk (∗∗) indicates probable degradation products occurring during sample preparation.
