	SiHa cells were cultured in 10% FBS (foetal bovine serum) and penicillin/streptomycin (100 μg ml−1) at 37°C in 5% CO2 atmosphere.Short-interfering RNAs for RhoC (ID 120897) and negative control (−ve siRNA) were purchased from Ambion (Austin, TX, USA). After transfection with 30 pmol of siRNA, using Lipofectamine 2000 (Invitrogen), cells were cultured for 48 h before harvesting for further experiments.
