The IHC stains were performed on 80 cases of lung ACA and 80 cases of lung SCC on TMA slides on a Ventana Ultra (Ventana Medical Systems, Tucson, Arizona) platform using the previously published protocol.16,17 Detailed information about the antibodies and staining conditions is summarized in Table 1. Cytoplasmic staining for napsin A and nuclear staining for TTF-1 were regarded as positive results. The appropriate positive control tissues were used for both antibodies. Two surgical pathologists (F.L. and H.L.) independently evaluated the stained slides. The staining intensity was graded as weak or strong. The distribution of staining was recorded as negative (<5% of tumor cells stained), 1+ (5%–25%), 2+ (26%–50%), 3+ (51%–75%), or 4+ (>75%).
