Publication protocol

Apoptotic MM cells were detected using annexin V–Alexa Fluor® 488. Cells (1×106 cells/ml) were mixed with annexin V–Alexa Fluor® 488 and incubated in the dark for 15 min at 37 ◦C. Cells were then centrifuged (300 g for 3 min at 24 ◦C) and medium was replaced with binding buffer (10 mM Hepes/NaOH, pH 7.4, 140 mM NaCl and 2.5 mM CaCl2). The cell suspension was placed on to a glass slide, covered with a coverslip, and viewed immediately using a fluorescence microscope equipped with a green filter
