Publication protocol

Two negative controls—cells without any treatment and cells treated with DMSO—were used. Apoptosis/necrosis was monitored using the TACS®Annexin V–FITC Apoptosis Detection Kit according to the protocol provided by the manufacturer. The percentage of apoptotic/necrotic cells was measured by flow cytometry using a Facs Calibur flow cytometer (BD Biosciences, San Jose, CA, USA).
