Human epidermal melanocytes (HEM) were obtained from Cell Applications, Inc. (San Diego, CA, USA) (Cat. No. 104K-05a), maintained in melanocyte growth medium (Cell Applications, Inc.), incubated at 37°C in a 5% CO2 humidified incubator, and expanded for at least five passages. The medium was changed twice a week and subcultured when it was about 80% confluent. |
